How we research the travel information on FlyProof, when we check it, and how you can correct it.
Sources we use
Only primary, official sources: immigration authorities, foreign ministries, official visa and travel-authorisation portals, official embassy and consulate pages, the European Union's official sites, and the IATA Travel Centre, which is the public front end of the Timatic database airlines use at check-in. We do not use blogs, visa agencies, forums or other booking sites as sources.
Dated checks
Every source on a destination page shows the date we opened and checked it, and every page shows when it was last reviewed. Trip Check shows the date the rule behind each answer was last checked, and warns when that date is more than 180 days old.
Review cadence
We aim to re-check each destination at least every six months, and sooner when a source announces a change or a reader reports one. Rules change without notice, so every page tells you to confirm with the airline and the official source before you travel.
How we write
- We state a rule as a requirement only when an official source does. Otherwise we say it may be requested, or that the sources are unclear.
- We never promise entry, visa approval or boarding.
- Research and drafting are assisted by software; every factual statement is tied to an official source listed on the page.
- We do not invent authors, credentials, reviews or statistics.
How Trip Check decides
Trip Check answers from structured rules we maintain for each destination and entry type. "Likely required" means an official source lists onward or return travel as an entry condition. "May be requested" means a source says officers or airlines may ask, or lists it as a supporting document. "Generally not required" needs a source too, for example the right of citizens to enter their own country. Everything else is "Check required". Try it on Trip Check.
Images
The arrival views at the top of destination pages are illustrations created with an image generator, not photographs of a specific flight or date. Interface images, the sample pass and the sample reservation are marked as samples wherever they appear.
Our interest
FlyProof sells onward reservations, so we have an interest in the topic. That is why statements about rules come from official sources rather than from us, and why pages say plainly when proof is generally not required.
Corrections
Email support@flyproof.live with the page and, if possible, the official source. We verify it against the source, update the page and its review date, and reply to you.
